Bootleg Brewery Oatmeal Stout (Australia)- 5.5% ABV

This is a lovely winter beer. It pours a very dark brown with a small creamy almost beige head. The aroma is all roasted malt and licorice.The aniseed spiciness has been produced by the addition of star anise to the post ferment. The four malts must contribute to the smoothness of this stout but the star anise slightly overpowers the malt.

A very tasty and enjoyable winter stout with a slightly different flavour.
