I made just a quick stop at Mash Brewery in Perth's Swan Valley for a refreshing cleansing Ale.
I tried both the Pale Ale (pictured left) and the West Coast Wheat (pictured right).
The West Coast Wheat is made as a partly filtered Hefeweizen using a traditional German yeast strain. This beer was a huge disappointment as it tasted of either Chlorine or Iodine. I suspect that in cleaning the taps, pipes or glass something had not been properly rinsed completely ruining this beer.
The Pale Ale on the other hand was a very well made beer. Pleasant citrus and floral hop aroma & flavour, not an overly bitter finish.
