Bridge Road Brewers Galaxy IPA - Australia (ABV 5.2%)

This is the third beer I have tasted recently made using a single hop to highlight the flavours that hop provides (Bridge Road Stella and a local Billabong Nelson Sauvin Ale). The Galaxy hop is an Australian developed hybrid dual purpose (bittering & flavouring) hop, it is supposed to have a "pleasant citrus & passion fruit" flavour.

Bridge Road have used whole hop flowers both in the kettle and in the conditioning tank to impart the character of this hop into this ale.

It pours a hazy orange amber and does have a distinctly citrus hop aroma. You can definitely taste the citrus/passion fruit flavour of galaxy hops and it has a just right crisp bitter finish. This ale also has an almost perfect malt balance.

An excellent craft brewed IPA that really does showcase the "Galaxy" hop.
